US Grade 2 - 5
Shark Week is possibly my favorite week in nature! I have studied and taught about sharks for a long time but want to share that even more. I am a certified teacher and love sharing my passions with students. In this class, we will cover some of the worlds coolest and most deadly sharks. We will talk about their features, where they live, what they eat, why they attack, which ones do not attack, and so much more. Class 1 We will begin with introductions then we will discuss sharks in general including their anatomy and biology inside and out. We will then dive into the sharks of attack central including Great White, Tiger, Bull, and Hammerhead. These are the most fierce sharks in the ocean. We will dive into each breed, what they eat, how big they get, where they live, and how they react with nature and people. We will also discuss how in recent times, sharks are closer to the shore. We will also cover how these attack giants and their quirks and interesting facts about them. At the end of class, the students will choose a shark we have not discussed and won't discuss, and they will find 3 interesting facts about the shark to share with everyone in the last class. They will find a few more things about it as well. Follow my guide I attach in the classroom. They use one of the can find a picture, write their facts down, do them on poster, on the computer, however they want to do these. I will let them show and present to the class in whatever form they choose. Class 2 This class will cover some of the other cool sharks that are not as known or talked about including the Shortfin Mako Shark, Basking Shark, and Whale Shark. We will also cover conservation and how to best help these amazing and very misunderstood creatures. These three sharks are really cool! We will end class with presentations of the sharks they chose in the previous class and then end with epic trivia on sharks as well.
