Dive in to discover seven types of sharks with mind-blowing traits! Sharks are some of the coolest creatures and also very important to the ocean's health. There are over 500 species of sharks! In this class, we will study seven species of sharks and discuss their amazing traits and importance to the environment! Sharks we will study: Lemon sharks Whale Sharks Chain Catsharks Great White Sharks Greenland Sharks Spinner Sharks Bonnethead Sharks Each species has its own awesome superpower! We will talk about the interesting traits that each of these sharks holds in a lecture PowerPoint. Students will use a KWL chart to help them organize their new knowledge about sharks. They will have an opportunity to discuss the importance of sharks and what we can do to help sharks stay healthy. At the end of class, we will share what new information we have learned and our favorite shark!
Learning Goals
Students will improve their knowledge of seven species of shark and the various traits the hold. Students will study the important role that sharks play in the ecosystem.

I am Ms. Ashley! I love to teach! I am enthusiastic and love to help children learn! I love to connect with each student and enjoy students of all ages. I am at my happiest when I see a child learning and growing! Throughout my online teaching journey, I have tutored over 1000 online students ages 4 - 16. Many of my students have attended my classes regularly for over 2 years. I enjoy developing long term student-teacher relationships and seeing my students thrive in their studies!
I earned my Bachelor's in Education and an ESL endorsement from Northern Arizona University and was awarded the Visionary Teacher Award by the College of Education. I have 17 years of experience teaching and have taught over 3000 online classes.
In my free time, I enjoy painting, gardening, visiting the ocean, and going on adventures with my husband and two little boys in the Pacific NW.
