Class Experience

US Grade Kindergarten - 1
Beginner Level
Recognition of numbers supports the development of other number skills such as counting, identifying, writing numbers and adding sets together. In this class students will count, identify, write numbers and begin to add sets of objects together to begin learning the skill of addition. These skills are the foundation to early math success.
My goal in this class is for students to learn the concept of addition.
This class will use dice and dice games in a variety of ways to increase your child's number sense and addition skills.

Supply List
In this class students will need:
                                          something to write on
                                          something to write with
                                          attached Shark Attack 2 printable
game markers (I will be using pom poms but you can markers out of paper or using other games pieces)
dice - you will need two for this game (optional)
Teacher Tip:
If you chose to have your child use dice, you may want to place the dice in a plastic container (I use a zip lock food container) so that the dice will stay in your child's learning space.

Teacher expertise and credentials
Hi my name is Lynn and I am excited to be teaching on Outschool.

I graduated with a bachelor degree in education. I am a certified teacher with an endorsement in Pre-K - 4th grade.
I taught first grade for 18 years and I have taught kindergarten for the last 11 years. I also have over 15 years of experience volunteering with pre-schoolers and young adults. I love teaching and making an impact on children of all ages. I feel so blessed to be able to have a job I love!

I believe that learning should be interactive and fun as well as educational. I also believe that all children learn and develop at their own pace and I believe in meeting children where they are when they come to my class. I will offer a variety of activities in my classes to enhance each students learning experience.

In my free time I enjoy riding my bike, crafting with my cricut, reading, going to the beach and pool, shopping and spending time with my family and friends.

I look forward to becoming a part of your child's educational journey!
