Shared Reading Experience: Make a Superhero!
This class will meet 2 times and read a Kindergarten leveled reader to focus on syllables, sight words, and author's purpose.

Description
Class Experience
Students will be able to read the words a and my. Students will be able to read an easy reader with support. Students will be able to identify nouns. (If time allows) Students will be able to identify author's purpose.
I have taught many children to read using this method and I find that students really enjoy these books as it builds their confidence in their reading ability.
Optional homework: after the first class students can design their own superhero if they would like!
I will supply the reader and any worksheets we use that you can print out at home.
Learners will not need to use any apps or websites beyond the standard Outschool tools.
Learner progress is assessed by the parents!
1 hour per week in class, and maybe some time outside of class.
