Come join the fun and make new friends! Pets are meaningful companions, and they add so much to our lives! Animal and pet lovers are invited to share their pets and meet other owners and their pets. I will be sharing my own pets including my parrots, dogs, rabbit, tortoise, and bearded dragon. This class is a wonderful opportunity for children ages 6 to 11 to make new friends and share their pets with each other. Learners can join this class once or multiple times to make even more human and animal friends. Participation and enthusiasm are welcomed!

Teacher expertise and credentials
I am an educator. I have a BA degree in psychology and education from Barnard College Columbia University and an MA degree in education from Teachers College Columbia University. I have taught grades Kindergarten through 8th grade for 30 years in a public school setting. I love to teach. Some of my interests include literature, animals, and nature. My philosophy as a teacher is to make a connection with my students in order to facilitate their learning. I am eager to integrate my passion for literature and animals to provide students knowledge in these areas as well as social emotional learning. I have a few pets including dogs, a rabbit, parrots, a tortoise, a bearded dragon, and fish. I have developed lessons incorporating my pets to offer both ELA and SEL instruction. I also enjoy teaching about pet facts and ownership of the various animals I am lucky to have in my life.
