The students will listen to and respond to a whole class mini lesson on shapes. We will talk about different shape attributes and how shapes are every where we go! Learners will go on a shape hunt around their house and find at least three different shapes that they may see in their house. For example, a rectangular table or a square pillow. The students will draw the shapes that they saw. After drawing the shapes, the students will have the opportunity to share aloud their shapes.
The students will be able to identify shapes and the attributes of shapes. The students will be able to recognize that shapes are all around them in their everyday life.
I have experience teaching this lesson to a kindergarten class.
I challenge students to keep an eye out for shapes that they may see throughout the day and draw the different shapes that they see,
