30 mins in-class hours per weekClass Experience
This class is for children who have taken the Introduction to Sewing a Button Class with me. I will teach different sewing projects each week as a private lesson like making a pillow, coaster or animals with fabric, a needle and thread. Students are welcome to bring their project ideas to me as well. I want my students to feel very confident with their needle and thread and be curious to learn more about sewing. The structure of the class will be thirty minutes long. I will demonstrate the project and provide uninterrupted time for the child to work on their project, while I provide support. My teaching style is to engage with my students in meaningful conversation and develop a relationship of trust/respect with the child from the beginning.
Learning Goals
Students will become neater and more precise in their sewing skills with a needle and thread. I will show them how to follow a straight line sewing, pattern and blanket stitch. They will feel inspired and interested in continuing their interest to sew and make projects/gifts for themselves and others! As this class is one-to-one, the student will feel more comfortable to ask me questions and finish their project.
