Description

Class Experience

Students will have a better understanding of fabrics, patterns (and instructions) and basic sewing methods after finishing this class.
The homework for this class varies by class.

Class 1 - source fabric (two fat quarters)
Class 2 - finish cutting if you don't finish during class
Class 3 & 4 - finish the basic construction of bag if you don't finish in class
Class 5 - take a photo of your finished project and post it to share with the class.
Lesson 1: printed copy of pattern - this will be provided in the classroom Lesson 2: fabric and other materials required for pattern (we will discuss these more during lesson 1) scissors (or roller cutter and mat), pins, table space Lesson 3 - 5: sewing machine (and adult supervision/assistance if necessary)
Learners will not need to use any apps or websites beyond the standard Outschool tools.
50 minutes per week in class, and an estimated 0 - 1 hours per week outside of class.
Students will need to have access to a working sewing machine for this class. The instructor will be using an older version of this machine: https://amzn.to/2XtCcsY
Students are responsible for knowing how to turn on, and thread their spacific machine prior to beginning class. If you need help with these steps often craft store employees (who you can meet with personally) and/or youtube videos are of great assistance. Please let the instructor know prior to class if you are still struggling and we will find a way to help.
