Class experience
If your student is interested in learning to sew or being a fashion designer, this 8-week intensive course is for you. This course covers a range of sewing fundamentals to intermediate-level sewing skills. No prior sewing experience is required. We will start with understanding the sewing machine, demystifying tension, understanding fabrics and stitches, needles, and other tools and techniques. Boys and girls are encouraged to enroll. Students will learn sewing fundamentals, some intermediate techniques, and basic design skills while developing their first-ever 5 piece mini-collection. They will learn about their sewing machine, how to measure the body and make size decisions based on the measurements. Students will get a basic understanding of fractions for seam construction. Students will learn how to put together a cohesive collection together using inspiration, color combinations, and trim options.
