1 hour per week. Learners may be asked to watch a video and cut out their patterns before class begins. Learners may need to spend additional time outside of class finishing their project.Class Experience
This class meets 55 minutes per day for 4 weeks. We will be using a sewing machine to make clothing for an 18" doll. You'll learn to mix and match fabric to create unique and fun outfits. Socialization is highly encouraged and students are asked to keep their cameras and microphones on. We'll chat about sewing and dolls. Sewing Class kicks off with a lesson on using a paper pattern (provided free) to cut out a skirt. Learners will then use their sewing machine to stitch a circle skirt for their doll. We will complete a lesson in fabric choice, textures, and mixing/matching patterns. We will use the sewing machine to make a jumper dress. This course concludes with a lesson on adding embellishments such as lace, ribbon trim, patches. We will also sew pajamas for your doll. Come have a great time socializing, sewing, and having fun while we enjoy Summer! This class is designed to give tweens an opportunity to relax, create, and socialize. Each class will begin with the teacher giving a lesson and then step-by-step instruction for working on their project. Once the project begins, learners are asked to unmute and leave cameras on. Socialization is highly encouraged. We will learn basic sewing skills such as, pattern cutting, straight stitches, sewing curves, using elastic, basic garment construction, and much more. Basic knowledge of your sewing machine is required (Ms Lauren also offers a beginner sewing class for these skills, if needed). Most projects will require minimum supplies and we try to keep supply costs under $5 per project.

Teacher expertise and credentials
Bachelor's Degree from Northeastern State University
Hello! My name is Ms Lauren Kimberly Iseley and I live in Oklahoma, USA. I am a mother of a 22 year old and a 15 year old. I home schooled both of my children from kindergarten to college. I love teaching and I am known for being very patient and encouraging.
I hold a degree in Accounting and a degree in Business Administration (Quantitative Analysis).
I really enjoy crafting and being super-creative! Creativity helps expand our minds and helps us solve everyday problems with "out of the box" solutions. Creativity is something that needs to be nurtured in every child.
I also teach math. If your student is struggling in math, it is most likely because they aren't having fun learning! Consider this....you can remember the words to a song but you can't remember basic math calculations. That is because the songs were set to music and your brain associated the song with fun....I teach math based on this principle.
I am an award-winning cake artist and love crafting and baking. I am excited to get to know your student and help them achieve their goals!
