In this one time class, students will use Simplicity pattern S8874 to sew a dress. We will begin class with introductions and then examine the pattern together. Students will learn the terms required for reading the pattern and will discuss challenges they think they might encounter while sewing the dress. Then we will cut the pattern and sew together step by step. I encourage students to ask questions throughout class. Prior to class, students should know how to use their sewing machine independently. This pattern is okay for a first clothing project but is also good for students with a bit more experience. It does use stretch knits which can be challenging and require a special needle for the sewing machine.

Parental Guidance
Students will be using a sewing machine and scissors. They should be comfortable using these independently.
