Class Experience
What happens when a button pops off? Do you throw away the garment? Perhaps use a safety pin? Take the garment to a tailor? Call grandma? Learn to sew on a missing button! Sewing is a basic skill that develops confidence, and builds independence. Developing basic sewing skills is also helpful to the environment, so don't throw away that garment with the missing button; sew the button back on the shirt or skirt or pants! sewing needle & thread flat and shank buttons scissors garment in need of that missing button or fabric to practice 1/4 elastic for button bracelet (optional)
55 minutes per week in class, and maybe some time outside of class.
Students will be using scissors to cut thread and a sewing needle.
