Students should know how to thread their machine and sew a straight stitch. In the first class, we will cut out the pattern for the pants or shorts and sew them. I will walk students through each part step by step and answer any questions they may have during the process. In the second class, we will sew and decorate the shirt. For this part of the class,...
I have taught many students of all ages how to sew and do other crafts.
Simplicity pattern S9202 1.5-2.25 yards of 60" wide Moderate Stretch Knit or cotton knit (this is for the shirt) 1/4 yard of 60" wide rib knit (for the neck band) If making shorts, 1-2 yards of flannel or cotton (plus extra 1/4 yard for shirt design) If making pants, 2-3 yards of flannel or cotton (plus extra 1/4 yard for shirt design) package of 1" wide elastic thread scissors sewing machine 1 package of Heat N Bond lightweight (this is for the shirt design) When in doubt, ask the people where you buy the pattern what you need and just add the heat n bond.
Learners will not need to use any apps or websites beyond the standard Outschool tools.
1 hour 55 minutes per week in class, and maybe some time outside of class.
We will be using a sewing machine, iron, and scissors. If you are not comfortable with your student using these items independently, you may assist off-camera.
