Description

Class Experience

Students are required to study the course materials and be prepared for each session. Preparedness includes: completing worksheets, preparing fabric by cutting out patterns. Becoming familiar with the sewing machine and course materials, will help the child succeed in this class. 
Materials List: Week 1: Sewing Machine sewing needles spool of thread for machine scissors ruler marking tool (tailors chalk, fabric pen), scrap fabric (old sheets, torn T-shirt), practice print out sheet (optional) Week 2 Sewing Machine sewing needles spool of thread for machine scissors ruler marking tool (tailors chalk, fabric pen) Fabric: 1/2 yard of main fabric (fabrics like denim and duck canvas have good structure. Heavy woven fabrics would work for the project too. 1/2 yard of lining fabric (woven fabric) Choose a fun print or color 2 yards of 1 or 1 1/2 inch cotton webbing or add 1/4 yard of the lining fabric for the bag straps.
Learners will not need to use any apps or websites beyond the standard Outschool tools.
When the course is complete, students will receive their “sewing license” through email. 
2 hours per week in class, and an estimated 0 - 1 hours per week outside of class.
Students may need assistance with items such as scissors and sewing needles.
