Description
Class Experience
Students will learn how to make a pattern for a project using math skills; and recognize practical uses for math. The concepts we will review in this class are: radius/radii, diameter, circumference, ratio of diameter to circumference, and what that is called, and the formulas for finding the circumference. They will learn engineering design steps which involves designing, building, and testing something.
Homework will be to clean up their work space, and to post a picture of the finished project in the classroom. Optionally it will be to add to or improve on the original project.
Waffle Fabric can use dish cloth found at walmart in a 4 pack for $2.47 flannel fabric or terry fabric you can buy a fat quarter at walmart for .97 scissors Ruler tape measure protractor sewing machine some kind of stiff paper (poster board, cereal box, etc.) regular paper can be used
In addition to the Outschool classroom, this class uses:
40 minutes per week in class, and maybe some time outside of class.
Students will need to use scissors, an iron, a compass, and a sewing machine, as well as other sewing tools.
