Sew Fun - Quilting Bee
Phyllis Prestamo
This 16-session class shares my love of quilting with students through the construction of quilt blocks and the history behind the use of quilts in our culture.
Class experience
Quilting was brought to America by the many immigrants who came to these shores. Originally quilts served a purpose; providing warmth, and covering doors and windows, but through the centuries, quilt making has developed from a functional craft into a fine art. Students in this weekly class will explore quilting and the history of the art. Students will learn how to construct foundation block pieces, one block- at-a-time while learning about the mathematics of construction and design...
