In this four weeks flex class, learners will learn the basics of their sewing machine, how to thread it and build valuable sewing skills in this 3 project class. No prior knowledge is needed. Learners will learn key terms and will be provided the sewing patterns needed to complete their projects. There are no live meetings, but I am available to answer questions throughout the course. Learners will be encouraged to show pictures and videos to show off the completed projects. Learners will interact by adding positive comments on each other's accomplishments by posting in the classroom. Each week learners will have a quiz to ensure they are learning the necessary information. Learners will also enjoy a game each week to interact with each other as they enjoy a photo challenge. They will answer questions by uploading a photo to answer each challenge question. I will also be uploading challenge questions that they will answer in the classroom. After each learner uploads their answers/pictures, I will submit a response. WEEK ONE We will learn to thread our machine by watching a video tutorial as they practice on their machine at home. We will learn how to thread and load a bobbin. Key terms about fabrics, supplies and reading a pattern will be taught Leaners will develop skills by sewing without thread as they sew lines and swirls and circles on plain paper....fun mazes and more. Supplies week one...sewing machine, thread, bobbin, needle, print out of mazes and designs to trace with their sewing machine needle. Week Two More terms and skills learn how to turn things inside out with ease. hand sew & machine skills Week Two project Hair Srunchy 5" by 42" fabric 10" piece of 1/4" elastic scissors tape measure machine, needle, matching thread color, hand sewing needle 2 small safety pins 2 1/2 yards 1/4' ribbon week 3 Reusable Lunch Bag Project more skills and terms Cotton fabric 1/6 yard of 42" wide fabric for bottom 1/6 yard 42 inch wide fabric for top 1/6 yard 42 inch wide fabric for middle please avoid striped fabrics you may use clear vinyl for middle if preferred 7-8 gauge freezer paper 2 pieces 6" by 12" thread to match top fabric 1/2 yard 1/2 inch ribbon week 4 Felt Hamburger with layers of fixin's iron...PARENTAL QUIDANCE NEEDED for this portion as well as during cutting please felt fabrics matching threads two 6" squares brown for burger two 6" squares beige for inside bun two 6" squares red for tomatoes two 7X14" squares green for lettuce three 6" green for pickles...NOTE: you may want to use a lighter green for lettuce and darker for pickles polyester stuffing seven 6" squares thin batting 7"X14" paper backed fusible web scissors pinking scissors for zip zag look on edges sewing machine bobbin Standard/universal sewing machine needles 12 or 14 gauge suggested.

Parental Guidance
parental guidance needed during ironing and cutting with scissors. Please observe your learner as they sew as sewing machine use should be monitored to avoid injury.

Learners will not need to use any apps or websites beyond the standard Outschool tools.
