Welcome to my ongoing sewing class listing! I'm so happy you're here and I can't wait to share the sewing skills I've been gathering for over 30 years. Sewing has brought me so much joy and satisfaction and I know you will love it too. This class is suitable for students who know the basics of using their sewing machine and can thread the machine. In this ongoing class students will be making a large variety of fun, small projects and some a little larger, such as a simple garment. Some...
Students will progressively build sewing skills, learn to make a variety of fun projects, acquire mending and alterations skills and much more.
There will be some preparation work at times in order to get materials cut and ready for the lesson.
Learners will need these basic supplies: *a sewing machine in working condition *an iron and an ironing board or heat safe surface to iron on *sharp scissors *thread - a regular spool of all-purpose thread and a bobbin (extra empty bobbins are important to have on hand) *sewing machine needles (1 universal needle in the machine and at least 1 extra) *sewing chalk or other marking tool (Frixion pens by Pilot are my favorite. Their ink disappears when heat from the iron touches it) *a seam ripper *pins *a tape measure and seam gauge or ruler *fabric and a few other small notions will likely be needed and will be on the weekly files listed on the classroom page
50 minutes per week in class, and an estimated 1 - 2 hours per week outside of class.
There will be sharp objects used for these lessons. Supervision is left to the parent's discretion.
