This is a 6 week course for 7th grade students. In this 6-week course, students will explore classic short stories while developing essential reading and writing skills. Through engaging discussions and writing assignments, students will analyze literary elements such as character development, conflict, mood, symbolism, and irony. Each week will focus on a central theme and an essential question, guiding students to make connections between literature and their own lives. Writing activities will include analytical responses, creative storytelling, and personal reflections. By the end of the term, students will have a strong foundation in literary analysis and written expression. All reading will be completed outside of class time in order to have rich discussions and analysis during our time together. All texts will be posted a week in advance.
