No, this is a BASIC SPANISH- for beginners. WHAT WILL THEY BE LEARNING? By taking these monthly classes, the students will have a broad base of basic speaking structures and vocabulary related to the theme. ▪ I teach a class. ▪ They take a package (email/app exercises) to do at home about 5 to 15 min per day. ▪ We review our conversation and vocabulary in class. ▪ Every week we will also have a routine dialogue which they will master during the month. It is very structured at first, but it is fun, easy, and exciting to do. Kids complete the activities and compare notes with other children. DO YOU HAVE OTHER TOPICS? YES! The ideal path to learning is consistency. You can take this BASIC SPANISH is by doing a different theme per month during the entire school year. Each month we focus on a theme and set of dialogues and vocabulary. I also teach some enrichment classes MULTI-CULTI- LATIN AMERICAN CULTURE focused on culture-related - music, sports, literature, history, famous people- as opposed to speaking the language. Here is the list of monthly themes, and if you want more details, please reach me at espanolforkids@mac.com. HOW MUCH SPANISH ARE MY KIDS GOING TO LEARN? Learning a language takes consistency. You cannot learn a language in one hour per week. Still, I will be giving the children opportunities - accessible and explicit exercises to do daily- so we can keep the momentum going and have more fun and productive class once we meet at our online lesson. HOW DO YOU STRUCTURE THE CLASS? ▪ Warm-up activity- review of homework ▪ Greetings ▪ Roleplay with a dialogue of the month ▪ Main class activity- book, game, song, video, listening, drawing ▪ Roleplay with new vocabulary and structure. ▪ Guidance for next week’s class WHAT IS THE TEACHING STYLE? I strive only to speak Spanish and use mimicry, pictures, and drawings most of the time. But I will leave no confused student for long. It is super helpful that students do their daily activities, so they arrive well prepared. DO YOU HAVE ANY RULES? I do. I’ll ask for a few things from my students: ▪ arrive on time ▪ do your best effort and participation- I explain how ▪ do the daily activities (5 to 15 min) WHAT CAN MY CHILD EXPECT FROM THIS CLASS? ▪ ▪ They’ll have a fun time. ▪ They’ll learn Spanish for sure! ▪ They’ll meet other kids that are also learning Spanish. MY GUARANTEE I promise: ▪ you’ll learn some Spanish ▪ I’ll teach a fun-filled class ▪ I’ll provide enough material, so you practice at home. WHAT IF I MISS THE CLASS? Wow, we’ll miss you, but I’ll record every class so you can watch it later. These are the titles for each month. - For full descriptions in one single document, please reach me at espanolforkids@mac.com ▪ SEPTEMBER- Travel to South America ▪ OCTOBER- Who Do I Want To Be? ▪ NOVEMBER- A Day In The Life of ….. ▪ DECEMBER- Mystery Magical Garden ▪ JANUARY- Look Who Is Coming For Dinner! ▪ FEBRUARY- Let’s Go Shopping! ▪ MARCH- Explore The Mayan Jungle ▪ APRIL- My House is Not Your House ▪ MAY- Let The Music Play! ▪ JUNE- Behind The Curtain- Puppet Theater

Teacher expertise and credentials
I'm passionate about teaching and designing Spanish lessons and developing materials for children in elementary school.
What started as a need to teach my own children became my career and my passion. I'm interested in teaching the language and the culture as well.
The scope of this particular course is learning how to speak the language. There are other classes I do specifically for cultural connection.
I find important and relevant to teach children as a whole individual and as a global citizen. My students benefit from learning organizational skills, consistency, mindfulness, and global awareness.
