Sentences Under Construction! Game Style for 1st and 2nd Graders
In this one-time course, learners will play 3 rounds of games that help them to develop sentences using an article, subject, verb (predicate), adjective and more. The games will be similar to "Mad Libs, Jeopardy, Splurt or Say It."

Learners will play games to review the basic concepts of developing a sentence. We will break down the parts of simple sentences such as "The cat sat on the mat or my mom likes baking," and determine which words are the article, subject, verb (predicate), or preposition in the sentence. Our main focus will be identifying the subject and verb, while our secondary focus will be on learning what articles and prepositions are. Students will improve their understanding of basic sentence construction (syntax) and how to develop one independently, while expressing personal reiterations.
I have an associate's degree in childcare and development, a bachelor's degree in education and a master's degree in finance and global studies. I have 5 years of experience tutoring children in ELA. I have an exceptional vocabulary and enjoy the subject of language development and writing. I am also a certified ESL teacher, and will employ tools such as TPR, props and encourage accurate pronunciation of words and sentence development.
