Class Experience

US Grade Kindergarten - 2
Beginner Level
Join me in this five week self paced class where students will learn about creating a well structured, simple 5 star sentence.

⭐️⭐️⭐️ WHAT IS A FIVE STAR SENTENCE?⭐️⭐️⭐️

A FIVE star sentence follows these five rules.

1. The sentence starts with a capital letter
2. The sentence ends with punctuation
3. The sentence includes spaces between words
4. The sentence is written with neat handwriting
5. The sentence makes sense.

------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

Throughout this course I will help your child learn about the basic structure of a sentence so they can start writing independently. This class is simple, engaging & a great review for kindergarten and first grade students.

🍎Week 1 : Introduction & Capitalization - Students will learn about the importance of capitalization through different activities and discussions.

🍎 Week 2 : Punctuation - Students will then learn abut the importance of ending all sentences with punctuation. (period, exclamation point, question mark) Students will practice identifying punctuation and begin creating sentences.

🍎 Week 3 : Finger Spacing - Students will then learn about finger spacing. It is important to have good spacing between words when writing sentences. Students will practice this skill through a writing activity.

🍎 Week 4 : Sounding out (good spelling!) & Handwriting - Students will practice sounding out words (we will focus on CVC words). Afterwards students will start to create their own sentences. At this point students should understand that a sentence begins with a capital, ends with a period, has good spacing, and should be nice and neat.

🍎 Week 5 : Makes Sense - Students will review all the four sentence rules previously learned. Students will then learn the last criteria which is to have the sentence make sense. Students will then review different sentences identifying whether the sentence structure meets the standards taught.
