US Grade 1
During this weekly class, learners will be presented with themed images. As a small group, learners will discuss who is in the image, what is happening in the image, when it might be happening, where it might be happening, how it might be happening, and why it might be happening. Learners will use the information from the discussion to complete a graphic organizer, and then put together a sentence about the image. Learners will complete approximately 3 - 5 sentences per class, depending on the complexity of their sentences. Learners will also learn about sentence structure, subjects, verbs, and spelling! Week of January 3rd - Circus Theme Week of January 10th - Beach Theme Week of January 17th - Dessert Theme Week of January 23rd - Jungle Theme Week of January 31st - Outer Space Theme Week of February 7th - Food Theme Week of February 14th - Zoo Theme
