Sentence Dictation Practice (Part 1) at Your Own Pace

In this four-week course, students will work at their own pace to complete two weekly sessions focused on writing sentences from dictation. The course will emphasize spelling patterns and rules, commonly confused words, homophones, and grammar, usage, and punctuation.

Each class will begin with a video that teaches a specific set of focus skills (see below for skills). Spelling rules, patterns, and homophone sets will be reviewed at the start of each session. Students will then listen to a sentence read aloud and are expected to write it correctly in a typed document (or take a photo of handwritten sentences) to submit to the teacher for feedback. This feedback will consist of written comments or a brief video discussing their strengths and areas for improvement.

The objective of each lesson is to write ten sentences. Classes will be held in a casual and comfortable environment, featuring an illustrated slideshow. Students will have the flexibility to rewind and pause the video as needed to accurately compose their sentences. At the end of each session, students will receive a complete list of sentences for additional practice if desired.

The teacher will address any student misconceptions and is happy to answer questions related to any challenging skills. If your learner enjoys this course, there will be additional sessions covering new rules and focus skills in the future! These classes are a wonderful opportunity to enhance writing skills.
