This 7 week course is all about advanced sentence diagramming and the use of sentence diagramming knowledge and techniques to improve writing.

*Prior knowledge is required before taking this course!* Students must know the basics of sentence diagramming. Students must have an understanding of how to set up a sentence diagram. They must know how to diagram modifiers, such as adjectives, adverbs, and prepositional phrases. Students will learn how to diagram: - interjections - nouns of direct address - questions - implied "you" - passive verbs - adverb, adjective, and noun clauses - verbals Students will learn how to enhance their academic and creative writing through knowledge of sentence types and structure.
I am a licensed English teacher for students in grades 5-12. I have taught sentence diagramming in person and online. It is wonderful to see the progress students make through these exercises! I spent 4 years in a public school classroom, and I have over 2 years of online teaching experience.
Homework Offered
Students will complete short writing assignments in between each class. These will each be about a paragraph long. These assignments should not take much more than 30 minutes. Students should send me these assignments before we meet for our next class session.0 - 1 hours per week outside of class
Assessments Offered
Learners will be assessed through class practice and discussion. Students will also be assessed on their use of techniques through their writing assignments.Grades Offered
Learners should have something to write on and something to write with available during class.

Class content will not be scary or upsetting to students. If your student has a difficult time speaking in front of others, please let me know. Students may use Google Docs to type their assignments and share them with me throughout this course.
