25 mins in-class hoursClass Experience
In this class, the students will take turns choosing letters to practice. We will begin by practicing the first letter of each student's name. Then the students may choose any letter when it is their turn. To practice the letters, I will demonstrate the correct motion to write the letter using a sensory tray and a toy tractor. The students will practice writing the letter using their sensory tray and vehicle. Students do not need any prior experience in writing letters. This class will not cover every letter of the alphabet in 25 minutes. However, I will keep the pace moving as swiftly as possible to keep the student's attention and cover as many letters as possible. The goal of the class is to practice making the motions for the letters correctly rather than learning all the letter names.
Learning Goals
Students will practice making the motions correctly to form letters of the alphabet.
Other Details
Supply List
The students will need a small vehicle to drive around in a sensory tray. A sensory tray can be any container filled with a sand-like substance that allows students to draw and then easily erase marks. A cookie sheet with sand or salt makes a great sensory tray.
External Resources
Learners will not need to use any apps or websites beyond the standard Outschool tools.

Hello, my name is Keri Schaefer. I am excited to invite your student on an adventure in education. I am passionate about teaching and enjoy teaching a variety of ages. I earned a Bachelor of Science in Education from Tarleton State University in 1997 and a Master's of Education from Sul Ross University in 2011. Along with twenty years of teaching experience in public school, my portfolio includes six years teaching College English in the evenings. My elementary background ranges from preschool through seventh grade English. As students progress through the educational system, it is fascinating to be a part of their development academically and emotionally. I strive to be a positive influence by encouraging students to share ideas and keeping classes fun. I love to sing and laugh. I also enjoy writing and literature. Since I was very young, I have been an avid reader. Sharing all of these experiences with students through education brings me so much joy. Having the platform to create and teach engaging, academic content is a dream come true. I look forward to many challenging and rewarding lessons with your student.
