Welcome to Sensational Science! This class is designed to spark your learner's interest in science and curiosity about the world around them! The Sensational Science series of classes are aligned with Next Generation Science Standards (NGSS) and can be taken in any order! We will alternate between a 5th grade aligned unit and a 6th grade aligned engineering challenge covering standards in both grades. Students will measure and graph quantities to provide evidence that regardless of the type of change that occurs when heating, cooling, or mixing substances, the total weight of matter is conserved. Students will develop a model to describe that matter is made of particles too small to be seen. Students will make observations and measurements to identify materials based on their properties.
Our educators have degrees in elementary education fields. We have several years of experience helping children develop a love for learning and growth mindset through teaching core subjects (math, language arts, science, and social studies).

Before coming to class each week, students will need to print out their interactive notes for the week. Students will need pencils and coloring utensils in each class. Additionally, each week students will need to bring special items which the teacher will post in the classroom a week ahead of time.
