I received my BA in Spanish in December 2016 from Nazareth College of Rochester NY and had the opportunity to study abroad both in Valencia, Spain for 7 months, and Cuzco, Peru for one month. In October 2019-March 2020 and again in August-December 2021 I traveled to South America and the Caribbean (Puerto Rico) to continue my studies of the Spanish language. Although I am not a native Spanish speaker I love speaking Spanish and sharing my love of language with others!
1 file available upon enrollmentStudents will need minimal supplies. Any worksheets will be posted in the classroom portal at least 24 hours before class starts. If your child remains enrolled for more than one week it will be helpful if they designate a folder to keep all of their materials and worksheets in one place. Information for this class will be presented via Canva slide presentations and Nearpod presentations (a link will be posted in the classroom dashboard before class). Depending on how quickly the students go through the material we may have time to do some additional exercises to practice the vocabulary. Please have your student bring a piece of paper/notebook and something to draw with to each class. If time allows we will use these materials to continue practicing the new words. Students should come prepared to speak Spanish, interact with their classmates, and have fun! If there are any additional supplies I will list them in the classroom section before the class begins.
In this class I use Canva presentations which I screen share with students. Your student will not have to access this independently. I also utilize an online tool called Nearpod. This is an optional tool (I can alternatively provide printouts if you prefer). Nearpod is an online tool that allows students to complete interactive activities and draw on the screen. It is accessed using a link/code which I provide. No account is required. Additional instructions are provided in the welcome message upon enrollment. Additionally, I will occasionally send relevant youtube videos to the class so that students can review what we have been learning in class in a video format. These will be posted in the Outschool class portal or embedded in a Nearpod video which can be accessed using a link.
