In this 7 week course, your students will learn how to play piano using Faber's Piano Adventure method books.

1-2 hours per week. Learners will be assigned songs to practice as well as technical exercises. It is recommended to practice 15-20 minutes a day for 5 days each week between classes. I will work with each student individually on their lesson book while the other student works at their written assignment in their theory book. They will be able to interject as needed for help with their written assignment. After 30 minutes, I will start working with the second student on their lesson book while the other student works on their theory.Assessment
The learners will be informally assessed by myself during their lesson. They will play the songs they practiced throughout the week for me and we will go over theory assignments together. They will be encouraged to ask questions for clarification throughout the lesson.Class Experience
This 7 week class will enable the learners to progress through their current Piano Adventures method book, whether they are just beginning or partway through the series. They will learn to read music, engage in technical exercises to strengthen hand dexterity and flexibility, and strengthen their sense of rhythm. Lessons will be taught through explanation, demonstration, and interactive activities which may include clapping exercises, playbacks, theory activities, interactive games, and listening activities. Learners will be given guidance on learning specific concepts that are presented in their book and will be able to play progressively harder songs as the class progresses. Learners are encouraged to think of songs that they would like to learn for fun on the side. I will provide these songs at their current level whenever possible, for no extra charge. Each student is given one on one time at the piano while the other student (if there is one), works on their assigned theory homework for that week. This way, each student is able to grow towards their music goals at their own pace and with confidence! Let me help your learner find their love of music!

Supply List
Faber Piano Adventures Lesson and Theory book at your current level of ability. These cost around $20 on Amazon. Also they will need a pencil and an eraser. I will also supply copies of extra songs that your learner may request to learn for fun.

Hi everyone! My name is Becky and I love to teach kids and teens how to play the piano.
I took lessons as a child until I was 20 years old and have my grade 10 Royal Conservatory of Music training. I also am a trained Music for Young Children teacher.
My favorite classes to teach are classes for preschoolers and theory classes. I love helping others to find what they love about music, what their favorite songs are, and how they can use the piano to relieve stress and increase joy!
I also teach the Royal Conservatory of Music program to prepare students for exams. This is a great option for anyone who wants to build up their own credentials in music!
