Class Experience

US Grade 5 - 8
Beginner - Intermediate Level
In this private tutoring course, third-grade students and up will learn to speak, write, read, and listen in Spanish. They will also become familiar with the culture and customs of Spanish-speaking countries. Students will develop their ability to communicate in Spanish in everyday situations, such as introducing themselves, talking about their interests and needs, and asking simple questions. Students will also acquire basic grammatical and vocabulary skills to construct sentences and express their ideas clearly.

I use games and technology tools to assist in engagement (Goggle Jamboard, Duolingo). I expect students to speak and write as we work together.

The weekly topics are fully customizable based on student and family input of need. Below is a typical breakdown of sessions.

Parental Guidance
Duolingo is used primarily as a screen share tool to show students examples of the vocabulary used, the sentence ad scourge length, and verb conjugations. Sometimes, I recommend that it be used outside of class and during class by students for practice. With guardian permission, I set up students in a Duolingo class. This requires having a personal email account. Jamboard requires a personal gmail account to be able to interact with the digital whiteboard. This is flexible and I have used Zoom whiteboards instead.
