In this piano class students will learn basic music reading skills.
Class experience
This class is designed for students who have zero or very little previous experience to playing the piano or reading music. During this course young musicians will learn how to read basic music with a relaxed approach, play melodies, and begin playing simple harmony. Students will work on their sight reading skills. Students will learn music symbols, how to read piano music and how to play beginning harmonies.
I have been teaching private lessons since I was in high school. I have 2 decades of experience working in the elementary classroom and I really try to connect with students to help them understand and enjoy the language of music.
Homework Offered
Students will need to practice to understand the music and develop their strengths as a musician.1 - 2 hours per week outside of class
