Welcome to our class, Semester Long: Word Families with Ms. B During each class, students will be introduced to a new word family. Small group is characterized as working together on the same skill in a small group. During class students will be working on the following activities: CVC Word families Cut and Paste, Word Family Houses, sorting pictures into their correct boxes by words that have the word family and do not, writing our CVC words to match them with the correct picture, practice writing using the CVC word family in a sentence and finish out with CVC comprehension, highlighting the words in the text. What we do not complete in class will be optional homework to further what we worked on in class. My teaching style includes everyone, and I encourage everyone to do their best, to have fun and learn together as a small group. As a class the last week will celebrate with how hard each learner has worked and learned with an award assesmbly (Ms. B will be showing the certficates for each learner, sharing first name only and that the completed the work in class) I will send each family their learners certitifcate after class on the last day. Optional homework will be given each week to work on the word families that were covered in class. This class will meet 2x a week (Mondays and Wednesdays OR Tuesday and Thursday's OR Thursday and Friday) for 40 minutes each class, for 8 weeks. Each class will have printables to further our learning in class that will be needed. We will have a 3-4 minute break in each class for students to step away and get a drink of water or to share something fun in the class. Anytime students step away from class they are welcome to turn their camera off and come back at the 2 minute mark. If cutting is needed for our worksheets, all cutting needs to take place outside of class with adult supervision. Also if we are using glue sticks in class, parental supervision may be needed but off camera. When we have a dance party on the last day, it is imporant that the learners learning area is cleared from anything that a learner and trip over. Week 1: Monday OR Tuesday: Word Family "ab" Wednesday OR Thursday: Word Family "ad" Week 2: Monday OR Tuesday: Word Family "et" Wednesday OR Thursday: Word Family "ed" Week 3: Monday OR Tuesday: Word Family "ip" Wednesday OR Thursday: Word Family "in" Week 4: Monday OR Tuesday: Word Family "ig" Wednesday OR Thursday: Word Family "id" Week 5: Monday OR Tuesday: Word Family "ob" Wednesday OR Thursday: Word Family "od" *This class will focus on reversals of "b" and "d" Week 6: Monday OR Tuesday: Word Family " op" Wednesday OR Thursday: Word Family "ot" Week 7: Monday OR Tuesday: Word Family "ug" Wednesday OR Thursday: Word Family "un" Week 8: Monday OR Tuesday: Word Family "ub" Wednesday OR Thursday: Word Family (This class will be a review class of the words that we have focused on" We will celebrate our success as a class with an award ceremony in class with a certificate showing how hard each class has worked and have a dance party! **There will be no class November 25, to deserve Thanksgiving.

Parental Guidance
Anytime students step away from class they are welcome to turn their camera off and come back at the 2 minute mark. Supply List
Materials that need to be cut out prior to each class will be posted in the Outschool Classroom. Each weeks printables will be found in the classroom 24-48 hours prior to class starting.

Hi! My name is Brienna. Students can call me Ms. B.
When the pandemic started, I knew right away that homeschooling was the journey our family would be taking. I have been homeschooling along with teaching. I began teaching when I was 18! I fell in love with teaching and showing students that they were Rockstars! (Reading Rockstar, Math Rockstar, Social Studies Rock Star). It was very important to me that learners felt that they were awesome and could rock any subject that was taught.
I have two amazing kids!! A Jr. in high school and a middle school learner. Our favorite things to do as a family is to travel and collect board games.
I am a huge advocate for special needs students. My son’s journey with Autism and ADHD taught me so much from learning about different therapies to IEP goals. I create classes so that all children with different abilities can participate and feel valued.
With my ten years’ experience, as a preschool teacher my passion is teaching children through engaging activities, while having fun. Prior to becoming a teacher, I was a private tutor for Kindergarten through 6th grade.
Currently I am working towards my bachelor’s degree in Early Childhood Education and becoming a certified Curriculum Specialist. With different classroom setting experiences I had the opportunity to focus on phonics, reading, sensory activities, science experience and history. Getting children excited about learning is what drives me every day.
