#Confidence Hello, thank you for taking a peek at my private piano and recorder class. I have taught private piano for ages 3 - adult as well as group lessons for over 30 years for all levels! My teaching style is fun and engaging. I like to present learning the notes and symbols of music in a way that is easy to remember. Rhythm is taught so it is internalized so it will come naturally to the learner. If you have piano books in your home, we may be able to use them. If you don't, we can use the songs I have written for beginner piano, download, and print, and then graduate to Alfred's Basic Piano Library Lesson Book, Book 2, which you can purchase on Amazon. During our first class, we will determine where to start, depending on your background in music. I like to discuss specific songs that older students want to learn how to play and make these a goal to aim for. This is the same class as the ongoing 1:1 but in a desired way that Charter schools need to enroll in a semester-long private class as they need. There is no prior musical background. For those who do have a musical background, the lessons will be as follows: First Lesson - Assessment: 10 minutes: Discuss what scales, songs, and books the learner has worked on 10 minutes: Perform their favorite song (s) and scales learned. 10 minutes: Start a new song for the learner to work on during the week. Lessons thereafter - 10 minutes: Scales & chords - review those from the prior week and start a new scale/chord 10 minutes: The learner will perform the song the learner practiced and we will go over any corrections needed 10 minutes: New song *As the learner continues learning songs, we will review new notes, scales, and other musical techniques that correlate with the learner's level of expertise. A piano or keyboard is needed. A few times per year, I will offer one-time recital classes for anyone who would like to sign up to perform in front of their peers. This helps in learning proper listening and performing etiquette during the recital. This class is great for those attending Charter Schools. Please let me know if you need a certain time that is not listed and I may be able to accomodate. I hope to see your learner in class:).
