Class Experience

This course is designed to help young musicians learn how to read music with a relaxed approach, play melodies on the guitar and begin playing simple chords. Students will need to purchase at minimum two guitar books for this class.

Each week the class will introduce students to a variety of music terms and symbols that will help them become more fluent with reading music. As a group, students will work on melodies and chords, but students will be encouraged to also choose a song to work on during the week and play for the teacher and or the class.

Over the course of the semester students will learn familiar songs and through daily practice grow as a musician.

This class is for a guitarist that has basic skills at reading music.
