*** This is a self-paced class, which means no live meetings*** Is your 2nd grader excited to be entering 3rd grade? This class is perfect for your upcoming 3rd grader for third-grade math. We will review math strategies to prepare for more complex math concepts as they enter third grade. Learners will practice strategies to improve or enhance their math skills. This course will engage learners by using many visual anchor charts and teacher modeling in recorded video. The teacher will provide math worksheets that will be used during each lesson. Learner Engagement: Learners will receive a weekly video of me teaching the week's concept. There will be worksheets provided to practice the math concept taught. Learners will send a picture of their completed work to me for feedback. Each Thursday, I will post a challenge question in the classroom related to the week's topic. Learners are encouraged to answer the question and then provide a challenging question for fellow learners to solve. Answers can include a picture of work done to solve the problem, a video explaining how you solved the problem, or simply replying to the classroom post. I will be providing feedback for all work submitted throughout the week. Learners will complete assignments at their own pace, but I am available for questions. I can respond with a written explanation or a video explanation.

I have eleven years of teaching experience in elementary education and hold a Master of Science in Education. I take every opportunity to continue learning and have taught second-grade, a combined second and third-grade class, fourth grade, fifth-grade, and intervention in a Title 1 program. As a certified K-8 teacher, I am equipped to teach reading, writing, phonics, math, social studies, and science.
I love spending time with my husband and daughter in my spare time. I also enjoy taking my golden retrievers, Sassy and Rhythm, for walks.
Thank you for considering me as your teacher, and I look forward to seeing you in my classroom!
Amanda
Hi, I’m Ms. Amanda! I have been a U.S. state certified teacher for over 12 years both in-person and online. I have my Bachelor’s degree in Elementary Education with a minor in Early Childhood Education. My Master’s degree is in Classroom Technology. I have TESOL, TEFL, and ESL Specialist certificates. I taught English as a Second Language for four years in a school district. For the last eight (plus) years, I have been teaching online to over 5,000 students and over 15,000 classes! I have spent my entire teaching career specializing in teaching English, and love what I do!
I have worked with children ages 3-18 and excel in forming a positive classroom environment. I find my kind and upbeat personality allows me to connect and engage with students in my classroom. I believe when learners feel more comfortable and welcomed in their environment, they will become more active in their learning! I love building relationships with students as they begin to express themselves in class and take their learning to the next level!
When I am not teaching online, I am homeschooling my son! I enjoy spending time with my family, and taking care of my little "zoo" including multiple dogs, guinea pigs, hamsters, and fish! I love swimming, and cheering on my son at his various activities!
Thank you for taking the time to learn about me, and I'm excited to begin learning together!
