Need a way to take notes a bit faster? Don't love writing? Write slower than your teacher gives notes? I've got you! There are two kinds of shorthand. One is a whole written language hundreds of years old. The other, that this class uses, is like texting. Many people utilize texting in every day life. This teaches you how to apply that knowledge, to your notes in school. There is a structure and system we use as texters that is almost its own language, this means that we can have whole conversations using acronyms, abbreviations, symbols, and much more to communicate. We can use this with school as well. This class includes the video that goes over how to do it, complete with a visual example and explanations. The other video in this class has three different practice opportunities to hone and develop your skills as a shorthand note taker. I will also be available to guide and assist you as needed.

Teacher expertise and credentials
Hello! My name is Miss Izzy and I was definitely born to teach. I have a General Studies degree that covers topics such as teaching and learning, psychology, and humanities. Learning can, and should, be a lot of fun! I am always excited about trying something new, and I love to help others learn new things as well. I, myself, was a very interesting student, and that really helps me to be able to cater to a large variety of learning styles. I am more than happy to accommodate all students to the best of my ability. I believe that learning should be equitable and accessible to every student who has the desire to learn. Let's talk about your learner and how we can work together to meet their needs!
I offer a variety of classes such as Greek Mythology, Beginner Spanish, Reading Tutoring, and School/Life Skills.
I have lived in Guatemala off and on for a little over 9 years, and it taught me so much more about teaching in various ways. I also operate a nonprofit in Guatemala that works in a rural village educating those who do not always have the opportunity to attend school.
Before I started teaching online, I worked for a national literacy non-profit as a Site Coordinator and a tutor. I worked with both elementary students learning to read and helped train the volunteers that came in to tutor them.
I have 2 delightful dogs who love to snuggle with, Sammie and Odyss, and I really am so excited to be your teacher!
