This self-paced course is designed to fully prepare students for the High School Placement Test (HSPT), ideal for those seeking admission to private schools. Weekly lessons will cover each section of the HSPT, using top resources to ensure comprehensive preparation.

Posted video content and supplemental materials will focus on effective test-taking strategies for all HSPT sections, including verbal reasoning, quantitative reasoning, mathematics achievement, and language skills. Learners will receive targeted support through instructor feedback, building on their strengths while addressing areas for improvement. In a supportive group setting, students can discuss and refine their thought processes and reasoning.

With ample practice tests and exercises, learners will become familiar with the exam format, build confidence, and minimize test-day anxiety, setting them up for success.

Lesson 1:
Test Format and Word Relationship Strategies: Exploring Verbal Reasoning
 The lesson will begin with a brief overview of the test format, followed by a focus on the HSPT verbal reasoning section. We’ll work through practice questions that assess your ability to understand and analyze word relationships, including analogies, antonyms, classification, logic, and synonyms. You’ll learn strategies to recognize patterns, identify word meanings, and make logical connections. 
Lesson 2:
Exploring Verbal Reasoning: Mastering Word Relationships and Logic
 In the second lesson, we’ll keep focusing on the HSPT verbal reasoning section, practicing questions that test your understanding of word relationships, such as analogies, antonyms, classification, logic, and synonyms. You’ll develop strategies to spot patterns, interpret word meanings, and make logical connections. 
Lesson 3:
Mastering the Quantitative Sections: Comparison, Geometry, and Number Series
 The third lesson will shift focus to the quantitative sections, covering comparison, geometric comparison, number manipulation, and series. 
Lesson 4:
Mastering the Reading Section: Author’s Intent, Inferences, and Vocabulary Skill
 The fourth lesson will cover the reading section of the HSPT, evaluating your ability to understand the author’s intent and make inferences, recall factual details, recognize synonymous meanings, and interpret vocabulary in context.
