Week 1Lesson 1Draw and Paint a Beautiful Koi FishIn this class students will be taken through the guided drawing process to learn how to draw a koi fish using simple lines and shapes. We will discuss colors, patterns, and other fun facts about koi fish.
As a licensed art teacher, I have developed techniques for breaking down drawing lessons into simple, easy-to-follow steps. Once we get the basics done, I give my students freedom to complete their project using their own imagination, thereby giving them the opportunity to take what I have taught them to a different, fun and creative level.
Students will need: Good quality drawing paper; watercolor or other heavy paper is preferred for watercolor pencils and paint Pencil, eraser, sharpener Black Sharpie or similar permanent marker Tools of choice for color: watercolor paint; watercolor pencils; colored pencils; crayons; markers. I will be demonstrating watercolor pencil techniques, but can help students adapt to whatever materials they have.
