Through a partnership and collaboration with the Missouri Department of Elementary and Secondary Education and as an administrative teacher of public educational programs for more than ten years, I have taught English and social studies classes, among other subjects, to middle and high school students. Our curriculum met the Missouri Learning Standards and prepared high school students for college.

In addition, I have received over:

* 75 hours of professional development, specifically in English language arts writing courses
* 50 hours of professional development, specifically in history
* 12 hours of professional development teaching facts about people without personal viewpoints
* 75 hours of professional development in diversity from all over the world and how to teach diversity
Homework Offered
The student will post to a weekly discussion board under the classroom tab. Students will be expected to post at least one thing they learned about the week’s topic by Wednesdays. In addition, students will be expected to respond to at least one other student’s post under the classroom tab by Fridays. Students should plan on submitting their story for peer review by Friday and, then, students should conduct at least one peer review to another student by Saturday. On Sundays, students should submit their weekly summary paragraph to the teacher. The students will be creating their own 3D diorama throughout the course. After each class, the student will create that week's topic to be added to their final project. For example, the week we learn about “Land” the students will create the landforms on their final project through what ever art supplies or other types of supplies they have on hand. During our 12th week, all students will present their final projects. All weekly homework will be assessed within one week of the conclusion of the course.
1 - 2 hours per week outside of class
Assessments Offered
The students will be assessed through their weekly summary writings. Sentence structure, spelling, and grammar will, also, be assessed. The final assessment will be assessed through the final project (the 3D diorama) and presentation each student created.
Grades Offered
A certificate of completion will be given once all assignments have been completed.
This class is designed to cater to the needs of all learners, including those with diverse learning needs, such as providing multiple means of representation, engagement, and expression.

The students will be expected to create a 3D Diorama. The supplies required for this will be dependent on each student's desires. Some students may choose paper mache, others may choose other art or non-art supplies. The materials for this will be the responsible of each student.

Students are free to use materials they already have at home. The intent is not to spend a lot of money for the final project. If there is an issue financially, please message the teacher for alternative final project ideas that require no supplies, other than pen and paper or typing.
