Intermediate - Advanced Level
**PLEASE NOTE** This is a SELF-PACED class and is PRE-RECORDED. THIS MEANS STUDENTS WILL WATCH THE PRE-RECORDED VIDEO. There are no live meetings. All interactions between students and the teacher will happen on the class page. This class will be presented via powerpoint and pre-recorded drawing instruction. Students will upload images of their assignments for the teacher to see and comment on. This is particularly important if a final grade is required for homeschool or charter school...
2 lessons//2 Weeks
Week 1Lesson 1Learning to Use Colored PencilsStudents will learn different grips for different techniques, pressures, and styles. We will practice color/value scales, burnishing, and layering color, and how to add dimension with complementary color shading techniques.Week 2Lesson 2Refining TechniquesStudents will apply what was learned in the last class in drawings of simple shapes and objects, such as spheres, cubes, cones, and create a "draped fabric" look.
As a licensed art teacher, I have developed techniques for breaking down drawing lessons into simple, easy-to-follow steps. Once we get the basics done, I give my students freedom to complete their project using their own imagination, thereby giving them the opportunity to take what I have taught them to a different, fun and creative level.
Homework Offered
Not required, but students are welcome and encouraged to work on assignments and practice further between class sessions.Assessments Offered
Informal assessments will take place during class in the form of teacher observation and possible suggestions (as requested by students).Grades Offered
Certificates of Completion will be offered upon parent completion of class feedback. Letter or Number grades will be offered per parent request.
