Intermediate Level
In this course, learners will develop their acquisition of test-taking skills in an interactive, discussion-based atmosphere. We will learn overall test-taking strategies, strategies for each test section of the Accuplacer, and how to identify specific types of questions. Each class will include instructional talks, open-ended questions, fun-inclusive activities, and learner feedback as we discuss strategies and review. We will look at most-missed questions, as well as strategies and multiple ways to attack the problems. Practice test sections will be assigned for homework so we can put our practice into play.
Learning Goals
Students will learn overall test-taking strategies, specific strategies for each test section, and how to identify specific types of questions in Reading, Writing, and Math sections of the Accuplacer college placement exam.

Pre-Requisites
Learners should have a basic knowledge of high school ELA and math (up through Algebra 1).
Supply List
Learner will need to print handouts and practice test material posted throughout the course. A scientific calculator is recommended for the higher-level math problems.

Learners will not need to use any apps or websites beyond the standard Outschool tools.

I have extensive experience in teaching (standardized) test preparation, drawing from my 15 years as a science faculty at a community college, where I tutored and hosted numerous test prep workshops. Additionally, my experience homeschooling for nearly 20 years, combined with my own children's college journeys, has provided me with a deep understanding of effective test preparation and college readiness strategies.
