Class Experience

Self-care contributes to self-awareness, heightened creativity, and feelings of connection with ourselves and our immediate family members. It should be seen as something necessary, worth the time invested in, and also satisfying. This one-time class will discuss the importance of self-care and its benefits while exploring three areas of focus for self-care: Creativity, Your Environment, and Healthy Habits. We will discuss each focus area in detail, with teacher-provided examples and examples provided by the participants.

This class will provide you with many self-care ideas to add to your days (such as healthy habits, music, organizing our space, and journaling), as well as the affirmation and motivation to make self-care a priority. When we take care of ourselves, we take care of all aspects of our life and also the people closest to us.

Application exercises will be completed in class to help students identify what self-care items they want to add to their lives and also to carry over the ideas learned in class to their routines. We will come out of class sincerely motivated to use our time to take care of and improve ourselves!
