Class Experience

NO LIVE CLASSES - LESSONS WILL BE RECORDED EACH WEEK

In this 4 week flex class we will use a series of interactive assessments to build a strong awareness of themselves, find out more about yourself and discover what you're good at and where you may have room for improvement. Identify the things that interest you and get some ideas about careers to explore. 
Based on what you learn about yourself, you can pursue educational and career goals that bring long-term satisfaction.

The learning goal is to give students self awareness of their strengths and weaknesses.

I was a FCCLA (Family, Career and Community Leaders of America) and FBLA (Future Business Leaders of America) advisor for 15 years.  I am a state licensed Family and Consumer Science Instructor Business Education Instructor and graduated of the Career and Technical Education Leadership Academy.  I am a graduate of the Career and Technical Education(CTE) Leadership academy, that hand chosen a selected number of teachers to participate in the states academy. I take the FCCLA moto to heart: To promote personal growth and leadership development through Family and Consumer Sciences education. Focusing on the multiple roles of family member, wage earner, and community leader, members develop skills for life through character development, creative and critical thinking, interpersonal communication, practical knowledge, and career preparation.

Students will be required to complete the interactive  assessments, lesson reflection paper and participate in online weekly discussion questions.

Students will need internet access. We will use Nearpod and Outschool Classroom.

Students will not receive a letter grade in the course, unless it is requested by the parents.

No live meetings, and an estimated 0 - 1 hours per week outside of class.
