Selecting the strongest evidence is an important and difficult skill. In this one-time students we will review what text evidence is, why we use it, and how to select evidence. We will then focus on what makes evidence strong and how to select the best piece of evidence. Students will practice the skills they learn by playing a game and then selecting strong evidence using a short text. This is a critical reading and writing skill. Students often have no problem selecting evidence, but are unable to select a piece of evidence that enhances and supports their writing. This is where I come in. We will learn how to become text evidence whiz's. See you soon!
Learning Goals
Students will be able to support their thinking with text evidence.
