US Grade 3 - 6
In this two day class we will discover what seeds are and how they are produced, types of seeds and their various sizes and shapes and how that relates to their longevity and ability to naturally disperse. Most information will be in the form of a discussion with live video . Interactive discussion will take the form of a game surrounding seed size and shape . This will lay the groundwork for learners to recognize different types of seeds, their potential lifespans, how seeds could move about the environment and make further logical leaps of understanding. Students are encouraged to find examples of seeds in their homes and environments to share during class 2. PG may be needed .

Science, math, plant biology, natural systems of selection, aerodynamics, nutrient awareness, environmental awareness and critical thinking.

I am a certified Permaculture teacher through the Permaculture Institute of North America with a P.D.C. through the Permaculture Association U.K. . I hold certifications in Soil Sciences with Cornell Small Farms , Sustainable Global Food Systems with the University of Edinburgh, and have written science based gardening and horticulture curriculums for public schools and private programming. I have a lifetime of agricultural experience and continue to design and build gardens for clientele.
