Beginner - Advanced Level
This is a seed-saving workshop for anyone interested in gardening, farming, ecology, or plant breeding. Learn to produce your own seeds for a sustainable garden, save and replant your favorite plants, and even breed your own new, unique plant varieties! Upon completing the workshop you will have the skills and confidence to save and replant seeds from your favorite vegetables, flowers, trees, and more. Via a combination of lecture and live demonstration, we will cover: •The benefits of saving your own seeds •How plants reproduce by seed, from pollination to germination •How and when to harvest seeds •How to process, store, and plant different types of seeds •The basics of plant breeding.
