We will dive into the “Secret Language of Music” as students learn about reading rhythm. Students will learn the basic rhythm notes, rests, time signatures, and measures. We will be doing a lot of clapping as we learn to read and play rhythm, and even have a few fun games! Although students will not be proficient at the end of this class, they will have the basic skills to figure out the simple, and most common, rhythm notes, rests, and time signatures. No musical experience is needed, but is always an asset.
Learning Goals
Students will gain a fundamental understanding and application of rhythm. A lot of time will be dedicated to students clapping out rhythms so that they can be confident reading simple rhythms on their own.Other Details
