Students will learn about the Grand Staff through the “Guide Note” method of note naming, which eliminates the need for learning multiple rhymes. We will also learn the basic rhythms in time signatures of 2/4, 3/4, 4/4. We will also go into compound time rhythms, such as 6/8, so there will be a lot of clapping! ...
Students will gain a basic foundation of music theory, that can be used for a student’s music learning journey.
I have been a music teacher for over 20 years, both as a private and group teacher. I have taught multiple ages how to read music, and use the skill to further their music learning journey.
Practice sheets will be sent after all lessons to help solidify the learning process.
To participate in a few Kahoot quizzes, it’s best if students have a 2nd device (phone, tablet, etc.) If that’s not possible, then they can still participate in answering questions, but they just won’t be able to be a part of the Kahoot scores. Kahoot (App or website) Paper and pencil Staff paper (either bought at a store or printed from file sent before class)
40 minutes per week in class, and an estimated 0 - 1 hours per week outside of class.
