In this fun intermediate cooking class, learners will make their own sweet dough using a stand mixer to create delicious, soft and fluffy cinnamon rolls. My recipe includes a secret ingredient that allows for soft, perfect dough every time! Learners will follow along with video instructions on a slideshow as they mix and knead their dough. We will also be making the filling and the icing together. As their dough rises, they will watch video and receive instruction on how to roll out the dough, apply the filling, and easily cut the rolls. I will teach them a trick to ensure perfectly cut cinnamon rolls. Then we will discuss how to bake the cinnamon rolls and apply the frosting. Due to the time necessary for the dough to rise, learners will roll, shape, bake and ice their cinnamon rolls outside of class. However, I am always happy to help via messages with any questions learners may have. Please note, substitutions are where recipes start to fail. Please help your learner succeed by making sure they have the ingredients and equipment necessary! This recipe is more technical and requires a knowledge of measuring ingredients, using a stand mixer and oven safety.
Learning Goals
Learners will increase their baking skills as they learn to tell when dough is finished kneading, when rolls are finished baking and how to easily cut cinnamon rolls with perfect edges.

Teacher expertise and credentials
Hello! My name is Miss Morgan and I am so excited to meet your learner! I am passionate about early childhood education and math for all ages! I am a child of a Deaf adult and have taken 2 years of formal ASL instruction. I have a Bachelors degree in Early Childhood Education from the University of Utah.
I have 4 years experience teaching ESL online, I find it delightful to meet students from all over the world! I have continued my training and education by receiving my TEFL (Teaching English as a Foreign Language) and TESOL (Teaching English to Speakers of Other Languages) certificates.
Before I began teaching online, I taught Kindergarten and preschool and volunteered as a reading and math tutor. I was trained to cake decorate and make pastries in a professional bakery and have continued that hobby in my free time.
I believe all children can be excited about learning, as soon as they find their own passions and interests and have a teacher who encourages inquiry and open ended question asking! One of the most essential things a teacher can do to inspire learning is to get to know each learner as an individual and help them make connections to their own life.
Some of my personal interests are baking and candy making, Mount Everest and other 8000 meter peaks, and children's literature. I collect copies of The Night Before Christmas!
Thanks for taking the time to get to know me, I look forward to seeing you in the classroom soon!
