Description

Class Experience

Geography, the study of spatial aspects and features of our world, allows students to explore the many facets of our beautiful planet. A geographically informed student learns to understand the connections between cultures and environments. Beyond the memorization of simple maps, this course takes an in-depth look at the physical features of various global environments as well as the many cultures and societies that exist across the globe. I am a historian with a specialization in cultural anthropology and cross-cultural psychology. I am a licensed teacher in the following areas: 7-12 social studies, 7-12 English Language Arts, and 7-12 drama. I have professionally taught world geography to secondary learners for three years.

Homework will consist of memorizing biweekly political maps of continents, as well as memorization of biweekly vocabulary terms. This homework should not exceed more than one hour per week.

Ruled notebook paper, pens, or pencils.

Learner progress will be determined with both formative and summative assessments. Verbal and written feedback will be offered to both students and parents. Students will receive a cumulative letter grade at the end of the course.
